Job 22:17-20

New International Version

¹⁷ They said to God, ‘Leave us alone!
    What can the Almighty do to us?’^(A)
18 Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things,^(B)
    so I stand aloof from the plans of the wicked.^(C)
19 The righteous see their ruin and rejoice;^(D)
    the innocent mock^(E) them, saying,
²⁰ ‘Surely our foes are destroyed,^(F)
    and fire^(G) devours their wealth.’
